The media has been carrying all kinds of views from nondescript people that the Gujarat model is not good. This could very well be so. Narendra Modi is no redeemer. Neither can one predict whether he can manage Delhi. Time will tell.

The Worst part of a Journey is when you finally reach the destination. The election survey machinery in India says Narendra Modi will form the government. Assuming that happens, then the most difficult part of the Journey begins for Narendra Modi. His own party leaders will be seething with Jealousy and rage. Every BJP leader knows that they are dwarves before Narendra Modi. Even Atal Bihari Vajpayee did not pull off such a Victory. The BJP leaders would like to see Narendra Modi cut to size. To that end, they will definitely try to sabotage the Narendra Modi Government in every way.
Polavaram Dam across the River Godaveri in Andhra Pradesh, is perhaps the best example of the worst type of public waste. Such a dam was conceived nearly 80 years ago. The site for the longest dam in India was imagined or vaguely contemplated at Polavaram , keeping in view the level of science and technology of that time. Dams took decade to be built.
A little knowledge is dangerous said Einstein the greatest Scientist of our time. But a little knowledge is enough for our politicians to be firm on how to develop the country. If you look at the way India has veered from prosperity to poverty in the last 10 years, the rulers should at least admit they made some mistakes. Instead, they stress that the only mistake they made was that they did not properly market their “successes”. Repeatedly we hear Congress leader’s state that if only they had launched intense advertisement campaigns they would have won the 2014 elections hands-down.
The political parties in the residual Andhra Pradesh and politicians want to take advantage of the disaster which has happened in Andhra due to the bifurcation of the State. The people are still shocked and not sure what t does and how their lives will be affected. But the politicians are up and running…they are running fast to locate a new Capital right where they have invested huge sums on barren lands over the last 4 years.
Pullarao pentapati - The next governments will be unstable in both Telengana and Andhra Pradesh4/15/2014 Whatever the administrative liabilities of large states, they have one enduring and critical asset and that is stability. Large states usually enjoy stability since it is very difficult to dislodge them mid-stream by defections. Small states on the other hand are inherently much more unstable since even a minor change of allegiances will result in governments becoming cortical.
The Lok Sabha election for Delhi state was completed on April 10, 2014. Whatever be the results of the 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, the BJP and Congress party can live with them. But for the Aam Admi party, April 10 is extremely important. How it fared today will determine its future. In politics, as in most things in life, perceptions are more important than reality.
There are many Chief Ministers who are taking the 2014 parliament elections very seriously. They are ambitious and have made the 2014 election into a referendum on themselves. Sensing that the Congress party has gone down and that the BJP might not form a government, many Chief Ministers have fancied a situation whereby they will have a major control in the 2014 government. Every chief Minster dreams of a situation like 1996 when Deve Gowda became the Prime Minister and both the BJP and the Congress were not part of the government.
a. People remember how bold Dr. Manmohan Singh was to put his government on the line for the nuclear agreement with the USA. He felt that such an agreement with USA was necessary and only then will India get the diplomatic advantage. People may disagree with this view. But there is no doubt that Dr. Manmohan Singh showed courage to enforce his view and got the agreement approved in parliament. However after 2009, Dr.Manmohan Singh was not given a free hand.
In the last week, Indian media has carried stories slyly blaming Dr.Manmohan Singh for the electoral problems of the Congress party. The thrust of the argument is that if only Dr. Manohan Singh had been more active and aggressive, then everything would have been different. The other whispers coming out of the Rahul Gandhi camp are that Dr.Manmohan Singh really did not put his heart in the second UPA government from 2009. The obvious inference is that though the Gandhi camp was aware of this flaccid performance they were generous and did not show the door to Dr.Manmohan Singh.
